With help from the incredible Newport Physical Therapy team and my family, we have made the extremely difficult decision to close Newport Physical Therapy temporarily, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. The safety of our staff, patients and community at large is our top priority.
We have reached out to Samaritan Pacific Communities hospital via the Samaritan Health Services Foundation in attempt to learn of the appropriate time and place to deliver PPE (personal protective equipment) that we have in our clinic that we wish to donate to our local health care professionals on the front lines.
Please reach out to us via email at [email protected] or the SHS foundation directly if you have PPE at home that you wish to donate.
Established patients whom are in the early phases of post-operative rehabilitation continue to be our top priority. In the next day or two we will be contacting you by phone to provide guidance to you as you continue with your home exercises. We will also be providing additional home exercise instructions and self-care instructions via email, on an as needed basis.
I am anticipating that outpatient physical therapy telehealth (the provision of healthcare remotely by means of telecommunications technology) services may soon be reimbursable by some insurances. We will be contacting our current patients to determine who may wish to receive physical therapy services via telehealth in the coming days or weeks.
We look forward to opening the doors to our clinic again, as soon as it is safe to do so.
Best wishes to you and your loved ones as you do your best to stay well and cope with the current, new world we are all negotiating.
